Parent Involvement Program (PIP)

PIP Letter to Parents

PIP works alongside fundraisers to help meet the enormous costs that tuition alone cannot provide. PIP provides direct tangible benefits to your child's classroom and to the school, and lets your child know that you value his or her education. PIP meets the needs of parents to be involved in their child's educational experience and reduces the operational costs by employing your donated skills and resources.

Here's how the program works:
Each family of an enrolled child has agreed to provide 20 hours of service or $200 in cash (or materials) to Montessori Academy during the current school year. We have enclosed a Commitment Description and Sign-up Sheet listing the ways in which you can fulfill this agreement. Some jobs will not require a full 20 hours to complete. In such cases, the difference will be made up with cash. Each hour given equals $10 credit. For example, 14 hours of work @ $10/hr. = $140 + $60 cash donation = a full commitment. If you are unable to complete your service commitment you will need to complete your commitment with cash for the equivalent hours that were not completed.

Choose the job(s) or donation that you would prefer in order of 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices on the appropriate lines. Return your completed form ASAP for your best chance at being assigned the job of your choice. This is a first come, first serve sign-up. You will receive a notice informing you which classroom job/donation you are assigned. If you have other talents that you can provide please check the "other" line on the form.

Each classroom has a volunteer Parent Coordinator and a Teacher Liaison who work together to help you if you need assistance in choosing or fulfilling a job. Please feel free to call the parent coordinator if you have any questions.

If you have children in 2 or more rooms, please choose a commitment marked "Community" as noted on the form, so that each classroom will benefit from your contribution. If you donate cash, it will be divided evenly between your children's classrooms. Families arriving late in the school year may possibly be able to choose an unreserved job, but if none exist, the pro-rated amount of cash to complete the commitment will be required.

IMPORTANT PROCEDURES
Remember that in order for you to get credit for your work, you must let the PIP coordinator know when and what you have done by completing and returning work slips to the PIP mail box outside your child's classroom. If work slips and/or receipts are received, you will get credit for your work or purchases, if not, a cash donation will then be required to complete the commitment.

  • If you purchase items for the classroom, please place receipts in the PIP MAIL BOX.
  • You may also put notes to your parent coordinator in the MAIL BOX.
Thanks for helping to make our school even better!
