Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.
Grandparents Day and Special Friends Day was a great success and I’m pleased to say that every student had someone come to visit our room and watch the concert. Thank you Rene Britt and all the volunteers that made the reception so nice!
Next week the Third Level students will be taking the SATs. The tests will be given in the Administrative Building’s faculty lounge. This environment will allow the students to take the tests without any distractions or interruptions. The tests will be administered every morning and will begin promptly at 8:30. I will be present during testing and I expect them all to do very well! Please make sure your child has had a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast. Also, be sure to provide a nutritious snack for them every day. We will have a celebration on Friday, after they have completed the tests!
The First and Second Level students will have a “special” week as well. On Monday and Wednesday, the students will be mentors in the Primary classrooms. This has become a tradition for the students and they look forward to it each year. Students who are not mentoring will be in Room 10 with Mrs. Laura Byers. Mrs. Byers is an experienced, Montessori certified teacher and has been substituting this year in many of the classrooms at M.A. She is looking forward to working with our students!
On Tuesday, the First and Second Level students will go on a field trip to Gentry Farms. This year they will experience Archeology, Botany, an Obstacle Course and a Hayride! Please be sure to dress your child comfortably in casual uniform. They will be outside all day so make sure they are wearing sunscreen. You also might want to put a small sanitizer hand sanitizer bottle or wipes in their sack lunch.
Although the Third Level students will not be going to Gentry Farms, they will be going to the State Capital and the Tennessee State Museum with the Third Level Students from Rooms 11 and 12 on April 30. Permission slip forms for that trip will be in today’s folders.
Last (but not least!) we will have Field Day on the 23rd, from 12:30 – 2:30. Parents are encouraged to attend and enjoy the afternoon!
As always, thank you for the privilege of working with your children.
