Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.
Dear Room 1 Parents,
It is hard to believe that we are in the final weeks of school. It seems that we were just settling into a routine and getting our new friends acclimated to a new environment, while our older friends were becoming the new leaders in the class. The children have grown and changed so much over the past nine months. We see some becoming more independent and others becoming more comfortable talking to us. It makes us smile when we see the children who have had some difficulty at the beginning of the year, whether it be academic, social or emotional grow and push forward to become a great leader for themselves and for others to follow. Looking back through pictures we have taken during this past year has been so delightful – wow, how they have grown! The children’s intense learning and hard work have made it difficult for us to willingly accept the closing of the year. It does sadden us to say goodbye to some friends who are moving up as they have been a great asset to our class this year, as well as in previous years. Our Kindergarteners have worked hard and have accomplished so much this year. They have become proficient readers, mathematicians, thinkers and leaders in our classroom. We will be honoring them on Thursday, May 23rd, at their Kindergarten Recognition Ceremony. We will truly miss them!
This year has been wonderful because of YOU. We couldn’t have had such a productive year if it weren’t for you all. Your time and energy is much appreciated. Whether it be driving on field trips, listening to the children read, journaling with them or sending supplies and donations for the classroom, we would like to thank all the parents for your help. We would also like to give special thanks to Mrs. Bynum, our Classroom Ambassador and Snack Coordinator, for her commitment and hard work throughout the school year. On behalf of all the children, we would also like to thank you for all the snacks that you were able to contribute. We know that took a lot of preparation and energy to provide that for them. We can’t say thank you enough for all the generosity in your giving of monetary donations for us to attend to American Montessori Society Conference. You have all been supportive of our classroom, and we feel so blessed! We love our Room 1 Parents!
The Mother’s Day Picnic will be this Friday, May 10th from 11-12. This is always such a special time for our class – having lunch outside on such a beautiful day and honoring all the mothers make it a sweet occasion for everyone. The children are preparing a special treat for you, so please be sure to attend! Don’t forget your blanket and your lunch!
As many of you have probably heard, we have been watching caterpillars donated by Mrs. Posnack, Mia’s mom, go through their life cycle. On Friday they began to emerge from their chrysalides and now all five have turned into butterflies! You should have seen the excitement on the children’s faces as the first one came out. We will keep them a few days but then release them into the wild with our own Butterfly Party!
Once again, as the year begins to close, thank you for giving us the opportunity to educate your children at this vital age of development. It has been a joyful and rewarding experience to work with each and every one of them.
