Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.
Dear Room 11 Families,
We had a great turnout for Grandparents/Special Friends Day again this year. It is always exciting to see the children share their love of learning with those who are special to them.
The SAT testing has gone smoothly so far for the Third Levels. They seem rested and relaxed and we are sure they are doing very well! Either Mrs. Stewart or I have been present during testing and will continue to be throughout the week. The Third Levels will have a well-deserved celebration on Friday.
In preparation for the upcoming field trip to the State Capital and the Tennessee State Museum on April 30th, the Third Levels have been studying and researching Tennessee history. This should be an exciting trip, as they will be going with other Third Levels from Rooms 10 and 12.
The First and Second Levels’ field trip to Gentry Farms was a success. They eagerly shared about the treasure hunt, lambs, cows, and carpenter bees to name a few. The hayride was especially popular. Thank you to all the parent drivers.
Last week, all students “planted” lima beans in a wet paper towel, placed them in a plastic bag and then made observations throughout the two weeks. Students made predictions, recorded their observations and discussed results with one another. Beans that survived were planted in soil.
New policy regarding Scholastic News: Any unfinished editions that come home are now considered homework and due the following Thursday. This work can count as one night’s reading homework.
We will be making one more order from Scholastic books for the end of the school year. The paper order forms will not be sent home. All orders must be submitted on line. The deadline for this order is April 28th. Below is the link you may use to order. GRKG4 is the code that you should use when you order.
Please make sure if you have coupons for free items that you use them at this time.
We have a busy month and a half of school remaining. Immediate upcoming events include the Annual Spring Picnic at Granny White Park on Friday, April 19 and Field Day on April 23.
As always, thank you for all that you do!
