Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.
Dear Room 4 Parents,
May is usually the busiest month for us. For all the children, they are at the peak of learning. They know the materials and sequence of work well and are independent in following their mental plan and desire in work choice. They keep themselves busy and constantly desire to learn more advanced and challenging work. With their acquired and developed skills, they move on to the next level of difficulty with confidence and at a faster pace. We see wonderful dynamics in which children move with clear purposes and set goals, and interact among themselves and with the materials proficiently and respectfully. We often see children work with good focus or work together productively. Many have become “teacher assistant” by giving presentations to their younger peers. We can see a classroom running by itself if we were to be out of the picture. You may see some of these dynamics in the video recordings that will be given to you at the end of the year. We are very proud to see how far our children have achieved and wish the month stretches longer to allow them time to complete the challenging work they embark on and are excited about.
Besides the rigor of work, many children perform in recitals and extracurricular activities. We as the whole class will attend as the audience when one or more of our children perform, whenever possible. We are now working on a surprising gift for moms. Please help remind your child to keep that a secret from you on what they are working on. And last but not least, kindergartners will go on the last field trip of the year to Nashville Zoo and prepare and rehearse for their graduation ceremony, the beautiful event that marks the end of their primary years.
We can’t help but again express our gratitude to our parents for your generous and kind support in so many ways. It has been such a wonderful year receiving your support as well as working with your loving and caring children. We are so delighted to see all the positive development in the children and the progress they have made. We wish our kindergartners and those who are leaving room 4 to continue their learning years with great success. We are excited to welcome back those who are returning in the fall.
We are planning to send home extra clothes, Yearbook, work folder, and a DVD gift from the class on May 29th which is the last day of school. If you plan an earlier last day, please let us know in advance. The DVDs consisting of pictures throughout the year are compiled by Mr. Alderson with the help of Hayden and the discs are personalized/labeled and donated by Mrs. Bradley.
We wish all of you a wonderful summer break.
Mrs. Chintanaphol and Mrs. Carlson
