our PASSION

Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your support during the preparation and production of our assembly.  It was a great success, and the children enjoyed every minute of it!  Thank you for practicing lines with your children, finding or making costumes, and making sure they had the necessary props.  I am always amazed by their talents and ability to “rise to the occasion” when the time comes to perform.  They all memorized an impressive number of lines and managed themselves very well, both in front of the curtain and behind it.  Accolades to them all for a job well done!

Thanks to your children, our classroom is a wonderful learning environment.  They are very excited about what they have learned about American history and the extraordinary people who have made this country a great nation.  We finished our last research presentations this week with the children reporting on famous Americans such as Benjamin Franklin, Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, and many more.  They have also made an illustrated timeline of their research findings and their artistic talents are impressive.

The children have also spent their time doing research and finding answers to science and geography questions.  In science they have been introduced to the scientific classification of vertebrates and have researched an animal of their choice, using a set of guiding questions.  They have traced and researched the continent of South America as well.  We will begin a study of the Eastern Hemisphere after the holiday break.

They all continue to progress in Math and Language.  All students have been given new presentations and are working with the materials daily.  The Third Levels have finished a Simple Solutions book and will be given a new one in January.  The First and Second Levels are also working well in their books and will receive a new one upon completion.  Both Second and Third Levels will finish the last three lessons in Wordly Wise after the break and all levels will begin a spelling program and receive a spelling book at that time.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Winter Revue this Friday, December 14 and again at Open House on Tuesday, December 18.

As always, thank you for the privilege of working with your children and best wishes for a wonderful holiday!

Sincerely,
Marynet King
