December 2012

Dear Room 1 Parents,

It’s hard to believe we are in the last week of school for 2012.  What a wonderful few months we have had learning about your children, teaching them each day, and growing more fond of each and every one of them.  We are so proud of the many ways everyone has grown within this short amount of time.  Each day the children work hard receiving presentations on new work and practicing work that has already been presented. Our productive work time is amazing, and we encourage you to come and observe your child absorbed in learning when the New Year arrives.   Please contact the office to schedule an observation.

We will finish this year on Tuesday, December 18th with our Open House and Winter Program.  The children have been busy practicing songs during group with Room 2 in preparation for our Winter Program.  As we mentioned in our flyer that went out last week, Tuesday will begin with the Open House, which is directly before our Program, which begins at 9:00.  Please keep in mind that this is an all-school Open House (except UE/MS) and that parking may be difficult – give yourself extra time that morning to arrive by 8:15 (we don’t want you to miss anything!)  We will be lining the children up at 8:40 to be ready for our 9:00 arrival in the Fine Arts Building.  We can’t wait for that morning to see all the beautiful dresses and handsome outfits your children have been talking about wearing.  This is also a half day with dismissal at 11:15.

We will not be sending home any library books this week in order to be sure that everything is accounted for.  Please return library books and reading bag/books by Thursday.

In closing, we both wish you, your children, and the rest of your families a winter holiday break filled with peace and love.  We are eager to spend time with our families and to welcome 2013 with a renewed sense of energy and eagerness.  Thank you for your continued support and love.  We feel so blessed to have such kind and supportive parents.

Sincerely,

Andrea Johnson and Mellynne Dickason
