our PASSION

Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.

Dear Parents,

We have had a wonderful semester teaching your children. We would like to take a moment to say thank you to all the parents who have helped so much this year. Thank you to all the parents for bringing healthy and nutritious snacks and for contributing to the Thanksgiving Feast. We would also like to thank the parent volunteers: Mrs. Barkley (PIP and Snack Coordinator), Mrs. Brophy and Dr. Sareda Nur (Parent Reading Listeners), Mrs. Susie Chin (Chinese materials for the classroom), Mrs. Wu (tracing materials for pin-pushing and art), Mrs. Lockhart, Mrs. Kachinko, Mrs. Bradley, Mr. Loh, Mr. Batey, Mrs. Muellenbach (Kindergarten Field Trip Drivers), and all other parents who have contributed volunteer hours to Room 4. We would also like to thank all the parents who have contributed to the PIP fund for classroom materials and supplies and in other areas that we may have left out.

Coming up, please join us for the Open House and Winter Program on Tuesday, December 18, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Please join us for this fun and festive day in Room 4. Please remember Dec. 18 is a half-day and dismissal for all students is at 11:15. We will have Winter Break from December 19-January 2 and classes resume Jan. 3.

Please join us in Room 4 from 8:30-9:30 for a presentation of the Cultural component of our Montessori curriculum. We will explain the Science and Geography/Cuture units that are part of the Primary curriculum.

This last month in Science, we have studied Rocks, the parts of the Earth, Magnets, and are working on Dinosaurs. In January we will move on to Nutrition and the Human Body. Our geography unit this month focuses on Europe, with students learning  the continent's geography, climate, major landmarks, the countries, and flags of the continent. Our art work also center around the study of Europe and the science topic as well as the winter theme. Children push pin the Eifel Tower, dinosaur land, snow man and evergreen tree.

We hope you all have a wonderful Winter Break.

Happy Holidays!

Mrs. Chintanaphol and Mrs. Carlson
