our PASSION

Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.

Dear Room 4 Parents,

We are having a great second semester so far. The students are choosing challenging work, progressing in their studies, and being helpful to their friends. We are looking forward to meeting with you at the Spring Conference next Monday, February 18, or on an alternate day. Please make every effort to be there at the appointed time since we will have to stay on schedule to give each family their full time.

Thank you to all of the parents who helped out by sending food for the Valentine's Party. It was a cheerful, loving, and peaceful event. All the children enjoyed exchanging valentines and visiting during the delicious luncheon. Thank you to Young Kim (Buren's mom) for donating beautiful flower arrangements for the Valentine Party. We would like to thank our parent reading listeners Dr. Sareda Nur (Libin's mom) and Deborah Brophy (Peter's mom) for listening to our students read and assist with journal writing on Valentine's Day morning, and then staying to help set up for the Valentine Lunch. We have such a helpful and giving community of parents and children!

We have been working very hard in the cultural area. We completed Antarctica and Australia in Geography and are moving on to Asia. If you have lived in an Asian country and would like to share about it with the students, please let us know. Of course, Mrs. Chintanaphol will be sharing about her heritage and culture from China and Thailand. The next few months in Geography, we will study Africa, and South America. In Science we have finished the Dinosaur unit, the Human Body and Nutrition, and have moved on now to studying Amphibians and Reptiles. Our upcoming Science units by month are as follows: March-Birds and Mammals, April-Flowers and Insects, and May-Oceans and Fish.

The students are all doing a magnificent job on their challenging work, and we are very proud of their progress. Please always feel free to contact us with your questions or concerns and we will be happy to help. Have a wonderful and restful weekend.

Mrs. Carlson and Mrs. Chintanaphol
