our VISION

our MISSION

our PASSION

Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.

Dear Room 4 Parents,

Thank you all for meeting with us during your conference. We enjoyed getting a chance to share with you all the progress your child is making. We are so proud of each child’s individual development academically, socially, and personally.

We would like to thank the Bradleys for helping us to purchase some books to add to our classroom library. We know all the students will enjoy these new choices we have on library day. We would like to welcome a new friend to the classroom, Saif. Saif is already making new friends, learning the ropes of Room 4, and having fun completing work. We have such a wonderful classroom of students who make each other feel welcome and love to help one another. Also, Aidan has a new baby sister, Harper, who was born in February. Congratulations to the family!

On the art shelves, we are learning primary and secondary colors and color mixing. We also learn to appreciate art work of great artists like Monet, Van Gogh, Da Vinci, and Rockwell. Children also learn to paint or color and make an art work following Eric Carle’s technique. With spring coming, we have added an art work for spring decoration. Children use a plastic yarn needle to string paper flowers and sections of straws onto yarn to make a spring decoration. Also, since so many students are progressing well with their cutting skills, we have added paper cutting, the traditional Chinese art. Children cut paper on lines to make designs. There are also Chinese calligraphy, and origami, the Japanese paper folding art. Children learn art work and skills that follow our geography unit that we are currently studying. At the moment, we are studying Asia. We will be adding some more activities to go with our next geography unit of Africa.

Art is an area for skill building as well as a main outlet for creativity and imagination. Children are very enthusiastic to work with art activities which we usually do in most afternoons.
In science we are studying birds and mammals and our next science unit will be flowers and insects. The students are working on learning the parts of the animals, classifying animals with cards, matching animals, and tracing mammals with tracing paper.

Mrs. Chintanaphol will be leaving for the AMS Conference in Orlando this Thursday, thanks to the parents’ contribution to the fund-raising campaign. She is excited and will come back with valuable information to share with the class.
