This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.

October, 2012

Dear Room 3 Parents,
All is well in Room 3.  We are enjoying the cooler weather although we know we’ll still experience some warm days.  However, since we are having cooler weather…everyone should think about exchanging their child’s warm weather change of clothing for a more appropriate set of clothing.  At your earliest convenience, send in a cool weather set of clothing so that we can make that switch.

Within the classroom changes have been made.  The geography shelf is now focused on the study of the continent of Europe (feel free to share any artifacts, photographs or stories about Europe with our class).  Because of the change in the weather we thought it would be a good time to talk about the seasons and weather.  So the science shelf is filled with work about all four seasons with an additional focus on “fall”.

The math and language areas don’t change.  The children simply work their way through the order.  And that’s exactly what they are doing.  There is a steady progression in both areas.

Since the children are wearing light jackets in the mornings (jackets that they may not need in the afternoon)…it’s also time to label those tags.  Remember…sometimes jackets are identical.  As long as we’re talking about labeling…we have some unclaimed napkins.  So it may not be a bad idea to put some initials on the napkin tags as well.

The all school picnic is re-scheduled for this Friday from 5:30-7:30 at Granny White Park.  We hope to see all of you there.

Thanks for all you do,

Mrs. Pound and Ms. Hill
