our PASSION

Montessori Academy's vision is that each student
will become an independent, confident, motivated learner, and a responsible community member as a result of the dynamic partnership between
students, parents, and teachers.
This partnership within the exceptional Montessori environment, while developing these characteristics, enables each student to become a life-long learner.

Dear Room 3 Parents,

We’re in the midst of our coldest months and Mother Nature cannot decide.  If this 70 degrees one day and 29 the next continues… we may all be sick.  At any rate, keep labeling those jackets and new winter coats that your children are wearing to school.  You’re doing a great job!

We’ve added two new children to our group.  Both are boys.  Jayden Wright and Kobi Eneje.  Kobi graduated from Montessori Academy’s toddler program and Jayden’s dad is a Montessori Academy alumni (a former Mrs. Pound student…22 years ago?  Shocking, isn’t it?).  They’re great new additions and we are very happy to have them.

Miss Hill had so much fun in our classroom during the winter holiday.  She (with the help of Room #1’s Mrs. Johnson) changed just about everything in Room #3 around except the bathrooms and the aquarium.  When we returned in 2013, we all had to adjust.  But we love it!  If you haven’t had a chance to enter the classroom, you’ll be surprised when you see it next.

The science shelf is now the center of the room and is all about volcanoes.  The children may even make their own erupting volcano by mixing vinegar and baking soda.  It’s a very popular new work!  The geography shelf is still focusing on Antarctica and the polar regions but will soon change to the study of Asia.  The Practical Life area has a few new additions and, as always, will continue to change.

You will soon be receiving a progress report for your child.  If you have any questions about the report feel free to arrange a time to meet with us.

We don’t know how you feel but our vote is …let’s either have winter OR get on with spring.  We’re not cold weather’s biggest fans.  I guess it’s a good thing we don’t live further north.

Mrs. Pound & Ms. Hill
